With the festive season upon us and the rollout of the covid-19 vaccine, we are optimistic about starting 2021 on a high note. But first here are some highlights from 2020.
To support the autistic community especially during the pandemic, we delivered 6 free webinars covering topics such as sensory differences, routine and structure, school transitions, and peer relationships. We launched a series of videos called #20in20 with practical tips to use during the summer holidays.
We joined the 2020 Summer Cohort of the London & Partners Business Growth Programme and the F-LANE Accelerator for Female Empowerment. We were one of the winners of the Innovate UK Covid-19 Fast Track competition and we graduated from the Google for Startups Female Founders Residency Programme. Our co-founder, Inas Ismail, was busy attending panel discussions at the Women in Tech Festival and Women Entrepreneurship Conference.
To celebrate World Autism Awareness Month, we launched a campaign called "I AM AMAZING AT ...!" where members of our autistic community shared with us photos and videos of their amazing talents and interests. We organised a Christmas competition aimed at SENCos where they were invited to come up with an original Christmas social story that can be used with autistic children in a primary school or special needs school.
We are currently working on the feedback that was received from school pupils and teachers who tested our new educational game, EmoGami. The game is designed for children aged 5-8 who struggle with reading emotions and social cues and we are planning to release it in March 2021, so watch this space!
